You’re invited to an interactive evening of meditation, mindfulness, body movement and healing on Thursday, November 11 at 6 p.m. via Zoom.
Join us for a message of hope from our CEO and learn how Wayside has expanded services to meet increased community need, followed by an inspiring virtual event facilitated by Dr. Joi Lewis.
About the event
This session is a gift of time and space for us to take a big deep breath together in community. We will hold space to interrupt the effects of toxic stress and trauma, particularly with the challenges of the pandemic and racial injustice. We will explore the practices of radical self-care and being “awake.” We will create space for wellness through the four simple practices of Dr. Joi Lewis’ Orange Method (OM) of Healing Justice: meditation (get grounded), mindfulness (get present), emotional liberation (get free) and conscious movement (get unstuck).
With such spaces created, we will be better able to gain access to deeper connections with ourselves and others and to learn healthy expressions of grief, pain and joy. By creating and strengthening the foundation for radical self-care practices, we can show up for ourselves, our loved ones and our community.
